A Fire Baptized Holiness Church of God of the Americas occurs as preponderantly African-U.s. pentecostal holiness denomination of Christians.
This church was founded by Benjamin Hardin Irwin & William Edward Fuller, Sr. (1875-1958). A Fire-Baptized Holiness Association originated around Iowa in 1895 under the leadership of Benjamin H. Irwin of Lincoln, Nebraska. Irwin expanded this into the national organization at Anderson, South Carolina in August of 1898. At age Xxiii, William E. Fuller, Sr., a member of the African-U.s. Recently Hope Methodist Church, tended to the initiation of that immune system around 1898. Black-and-white were admitted using equality. Fuller returned to Just released Hope from either a 1898 meeting, resigned his agents, turned around his license, & cast his lot by having a Fire-Baptized Holiness Church. When Irwinside left a church in 1900, Joseph Hillery King became the General Overseer. Bishop Fuller served when Adjunct General Overseer to Overseer King inside 1905. Acting in what he thought was a trend toward segregation, Fuller led astir Five hundred members to organize the Colored Fire Baptized Holiness Church in 1908 in Greer, South Carolina. A True Witness periodical was established inside 1909. In June 8, 1926 the name Fire Baptized Holiness Church of God of the Americas was adopted.
